Company History

Masconomo Forestry Inc. is an innovative private consulting firm in the forestry sector and has been in business for 18 years. Its primary mission is to advance the art and science of sustainable forestry by providing ecological services for landowners and land management professionals in the Lake States. Masconomo Forestry is also active in communications and manages approximately 400 acres of company woodlands in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Masconomo Forestry Inc. provides high quality information and technical services to three market segments: public land management agencies, non government organizations (NGO), and the private sector. Clients have included the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, the Institute of Agriculture and Trade Policy, St. John's University, the Aiken County Land Department, the Fond du Lac Tribal Band and many private consultants and landowners in the midwest. Masconomo Forestry was an early adapter to the standards of Forest Certification (FSC and PEFC), and it provides training and group certification for interested clients. In addition, Masconomo Forestry is expanding efforts to offer specialized communications services such as applied research, workshops and presentations. Finally Masconomo Forestry works with private landowners in Central Minnesota to improve the health, productivity and enjoyment of their properties.

Our goal, quite simply, is to be on the cutting edge of ecological, economic and socially sound forestry practices in the Lake States. The company will continue to explore new market niches and to select projects and clients with long term relationships in mind.
